Gordon Ramsay can be a little over the top when it comes to his recipes. His specialty is the puff pastry-crusted Beef Wellington for crying out loud. Of course, it’s a treat for us when we eat at one of his restaurants (We’ll never stop thinking about his lobster risotto.) or try one of his approved recipes. But, do those extravagant methods translate to breakfast?
Traditionally, breakfast is a simple meal, usually consisting of a few ingredients and not much time in the kitchen. However, in true Ramsay fashion, the chef takes his breakfast recipes up a notch.
His go-to breakfast of oatmeal consists of oats, dates, apples, and spices simmered until it reaches a “creamy consistency.” He cooks his scrambled eggs using a 30-second on, 10-second off heat method. And even his midnight snack, a typical breakfast staple with Heinz beans, egg, and cheese on toast, requires a bit of cooking.
Yet, as outrageous as some things sound, we can’t help but make Ramsay’s recipes over and over again because they’re just so delicious. So, of course, the “Next Level Chef” host’s “perfect” breakfast sandwich isn’t just an egg and bacon on a bagel, but a flavorful take that essentially puts a full English breakfast between two pieces of bread.
Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Perfect’ Breakfast Sandwich
Ramsay’s breakfast sandwich, which he made in a YouTube video and also shared on TikTok, is topped with both bacon and sausage, roasted tomatoes, and fried eggs. It sounds basic, and it is, but the cooking method is what makes the sandwich a “game changer,” according to a fan in the TikTok comments.
In the video, Ramsay fries breakfast sausage and bacon in an oven-safe skillet with oil, butter, and pepper. Once the meats are lightly browned, he adds cherry tomatoes and allows them to blister slightly. Then, Ramsay puts the entire skillet in the oven for 4 minutes.

While the fry-up cooks in the oven, he fries his eggs “like never before.” He cracks two eggs into a pan with hot oil and butter, then seasons them with salt, pepper, and a “touch” of chili flakes.
Instead of flipping the eggs, he rolls the pan around off the heat so the hot butter will cook the egg white without hardening the yolk in the center—all while getting the bottom of the eggs nice and crispy. Once almost cooked, Ramsay takes the eggs up “another level” by topping them with sriracha and a splash of Worcestershire sauce, making them “eggs to die for.”
As the eggs finish cooking off the heat, the fry-up comes out of the oven. He drains the sausage and bacon and lightly crushes the tomatoes “so the water comes out.” As the tomatoes sit in the purée, he adds a touch of balsamic vinegar.
Ramsay uses untoasted crusty bread and he starts assembling the sandwich by spooning the butter, oil, and saucy mixture from the eggs onto the bread. He slices the sausage links in half, adds them to the sandwich, then adds the bacon, tomatoes, and egg.

Now, he may be missing a few ingredients to make it a full full English—namely the beans, mushrooms, and blood pudding—but the meaty sandwich already seems packed (and messy) enough.
Sure, this breakfast sandwich is probably not something that you’d make every morning—or maybe even want to eat every morning. It’s a little more time-consuming than scrambled eggs and toast, and it’s a lot of rich, buttery, and meaty flavors. However, it’s certainly a treat when you do make it.
“[This] will cure any hangover at any time of the week,” Ramsay said. We believe it, but there’s no hangover needed to enjoy this monstrous breakfast sandwich, either.
